CVG passed John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, according to federal statistics. Carriers serving CVG carried 104,569 tons of cargo during August, down 0.9 percent from the same month in 2018. Year to date, cargo volume is up nearly 2 percent. Cargo-related operations make up the majority of landed weight at CVG. About 621 million pounds of the airport’s landed weight came from cargo compared with 464 million pounds of non-cargo. (July 23, 2019) – American Airlines announced it will begin daily seasonal service to Phoenix from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) beginning December 18, 2019 through April 6, 2020. The route flies during the Christmas/New Year’s holiday, Spring Break and Cincinnati Reds Spring Training using A319 aircraft (120 seat configuration).Tickets are on sale Monday, July 29, 2019. (July 17, 2019) – The U.S. Department of Transportation released its average airfare ranking report for first quarter 2019, and the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) once again has the lowest airfares in the region. Among the top 100 U.S. domestic airports, CVG ranked #63.
